the eyes behind these images
Landscapes and nature photos are the work of my father, Tom Shelow, who has been an avid amateur photographer as long as I can remember. I was present for the series of photos from West Virginia, when a “fall color” expedition in October was interrupted by snowfall in the high elevations of the Monongahela National Forest. The photo on the instruction page is the Swift River as viewed from the site of the Albany Covered Bridge just off New Hampshire Highway 112, the Kancamagus Hiway. This page features an ocean view from the Pemaquid Light on the Maine coast.
The majority of portraits and candids are the work of John Kitchen at iSimon Photography. John and I took most of these pictures on one long sunny Sunday in August 2009.
More recent live, candid, and posed photos are the work of Carol Steen of Thru Blue Eyes photography.
Jason Campbell took the picture of his daughter dancing when they encountered me busking one fine summer evening.
Don Henderson’s contribution is taken from a series done in the Irish Room at the Cathedral of Learning at the University of Pittsburgh. Many thanks to Maxine Bruhns, Director of the Nationality Rooms, for use of this evocative room.
And the very nice live photo from Pat Kilkenny of Kilkenny Digital Retouching & Illustration is one of a series of photos from the Julie Fowlis performance at Club Café on Pittsburgh’s Southside.
